This is an aerial view of the open green field of the Esplanade (later "Padang"). Some of the prominent buildings in the area are Victoria Theatre and Memorial Hall, Parliament House, Attorney-General's Chambers, Singapore Cricket Club, The Europe Hotel (formerly Grand Hotel de l'Europe), and Municipal Building (later "City Hall").
