This is a photograph of rioters attacking two volunteer policemen with sticks, stones and hoes. The policemen were on their way to work when the rioters ambushed their vehicle. The rioters comprise students from Chinese High School and Chung Cheng High School, and picketing strikers from Hock Lee Amalgamated Bus Company and Singapore Bus Workers Union.
