This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Mr. Abdul Rahim bin Ishak, Minister of State for Education (1965 to 1968). He was Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (1968 to 1972); Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (September 1972 to 1981); Vice-Chairman of the Adult Education Board (1963 to 1968); Member of the People's Action Party Central Executive Committee (1961 to 1976); Ambassador to Indonesia (1974 to 1977); High Commissioner to New Zealand (1981 to 1987); and PAP Member of Parliament for Siglap (1963 to 1984). Mr. Rahim was the youngest brother of Mr. Yusof bin Ishak, President of Singapore. Title devised by Library staff.
