This is a half-length portrait of Sir Malcolm John MacDonald, wearing a suit and holding a wine glass in his left hand. He was British Governor-General of the Malayan Union (May 1946-1948) and later Commissioner-General for Southeast Asia from 1948 to 1955. He served as the first Chancellor of the University of Malaya from 1949 to 1961. Title devised by Library staff.
