This is a view of Shell House (extreme left, later "Singapore Rubber House", now demolished) towering over the first overhead pedestrian bridge in Singapore along Collyer Quay. It was installed and officially declared open by Parliamentary Secretary for Culture, Mr. Fong Sip Chee on 2 May 1964. Next to the 15-storey Shell House can be seen a partial view of City Book Store in Winchester House (in white) and the domed seven-storey Maritime Building (formerly "Union Building"). Title devised by Library staff.
