This is a photograph of workers in a protest strike at Lim Teck Lee Company Limited (background) at 2 Circular Road. They were represented by the Singapore Textiles and General Merchants Employees' Union. The trading firm was founded in 1918 by Mr. Lim Che Meng (1888-1982), a Teochew community leader, and incorporated as a Limited company in 1953. Title devised by Library staff.
