This photograph shows a close-up view of Peranakan women costume during the Peranakan Festival on 10 December 2000 at the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM). A variety of batik sarong designs are worn by the Peranakan Nyonya, who are also wearing the beaded shoes or kasut manik. The Festival was held to celebrate the opening of the Peranakan Legacy permanent display at the ACM, which was launched on 6 December 2000. Title devised by Library staff.
