View of Muhammadiyah Welfare Home (MWH) at 716-718, Mountbatten Road. The home was set up at the former Katong Children's Home (managed by Ministry of Community Development) in December 1989. It is a shelter and rehabilitation centre for juvenile offenders, abused and neglected children as well as those who are beyond parental control. MWH was relocated to new premises at Bedok North on 8 January 2010. The new premises was officially opened by Ms Ho Ching, Chief Executive Officer of Temasek Holdings and wife of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, on 19 June 2010. TItle devised by Library staff.
