An advertisement by Asia Commercial Bank featuring a snapshot of its head office, the 15-storey Asia Commercial Bank Building at 2, Mistri Road, off Shenton Way. The bank building was declared open on 12 July 1980, and sold in 1987. In 1988, it was renamed "Hualon Microelectronics Corporation Building" or "HMC Building". HMC Building was demolished after 2005 to make way for the Lumiere, a 45-storey condominium. Asia Commercial Banking Corporation was established in January 1959. The headquarters was formerly located in a four-storey building at 38, Hong Kong Street (1959-1965), a three-storey building at 110, Robinson Road (Jul 1965-1967), 65, South Bridge Road (1967) and subsequently to Robinson Road (1968-1980). The bank was renamed "Asia Commercial Bank" in January 1980. It was acquired by Keppel Corporation in 1990 and renamed "Keppel Bank". In 1998, Keppel Bank and Tat Lee Bank (established in 1974) merged to form "Keppel TatLee Bank". In February 2002, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC) acquired Keppel TatLee Bank, which stop carrying banking businesses and renamed "KTB Limited".
