This is a view of Fatima Home for Handicapped Children, an annex to Canossa Convent at Aljunied Road. The home was declared open by Acting Secretary for Social Welfare, Mr. T.E. Smith, in October 1952. Blind, deaf, crippled and mentally deficient children were admitted and cared for until 1955. Then, Canossa Convent Oral School for the Deaf was established in January 1956, with ten pupils of various ages. In July 1957, it was approved by Education Department. Title devised by Library staff.
