There was a time in my secondary school (Singapore Chinese Girls' School) that jelly hearts were all the craze. It is essentially a cheesecake, topped with a strawberry in the shape of a heart, under a layer of gelatinous strawberry jelly. Whether homemade or storebought, it was always a main staple in all school based fundraising fairs/carnivals/events. Highly popular during Valentine's Day celebrations, they would always be snapped up in no time! -- Contributed by R. Liu, as part of the "Young Singapore" Contemporary Collecting initiative.
