This is the right profile of Mr. Kunalan Canagasabai, the 100-metre national record holder who clocked 10.38 seconds at the 19th Olympic Games in Mexico City on 15 July 1968. The record stood for 33 years before it was broken. He was awarded the Best Sportsman of the Year in 1968 and 1969. He represented Singapore in the Olympic Games (1964, 1968). He went on to become a lecturer and Assistant Professor at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science at the Institute of Education; and National Sprint Coach (1993-1996).
