The silver standard and the Straits currency question

Information About

A case is made for the conversion of the currency of the Straits Settlements which was based on a silver standard to a gold standard because of the great depreciation of the currencies based on a silver standard resulting in higher prices with serious repercussions on the wage earner, trade balances and government budgets. A method of conversion is proposed.
