This manual is a practical, simply written introduction to the Malay language. It includes an account of the alphabet, pronunciation and phonetics of the language, a short grammatical sketch, simple English exercises or dialogues for translation or re-translation, specimens of written language with notes and two vocabularies, one of Malay words used in the exercises and the other the English words.
