This publication contains a collection of voyages and travels. The first account is that of John Nieuhoff. Written originally in Dutch, it tells the account of Nieuhoff's stay in Brazil. Nieuhoff's account gives a description of the country, its people and their customs. The second account is that of Nieuhoff's travels to the East Indies, which covers Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and India. In this account, he describes the history and natural history of these places, as well as the social life and customs of their inhabitants. The third account is also of John Nieuhoff's travels to the East Indies. The fourth is the travels of Captain John Smith to several continents. This is followed by the accounts of several sailors to Greenland and Spitzbergen.
