This paper is the report of a socio-economic survey of Pulau Sudong, an island a few miles off the south-west coast of the main island of Singapore. The aim of the survey is to obtain a clear image of the Pulau Sudong community's way of life. This will help the authorities aware of possible effects on the pre-dominantly fishing community when planning development project(s) on the island. This report contains information on the methodology, ecology of the island, socio-economic characteristics of households on the island, and the findings.
