“The first part of this paper, containing the narrative of the expedition to Kina Balu, is based upon diary notes written during the journey and is practically the report which I sent in to the Committee of the Raffles Museum on April 27th of last year. The second part, containing the scientific results, could only be compiled after considerable delay; most of the zoological specimens obtained during the expedition had to be sent for identification to specialists at home and elsewhere”—P. 49.
