This book by the Singapore Mint is meant to increase interest in the second series of the Chinese Almanac coins which first started in 1981 with the Year of the Rooster coin and to attract more collectors. For the new series of Almanac coins, the artist, Ms Elsie Yu has skilfully depicted each of the animals using the traditional Chinese paper-cut style. Interwoven with the decorative background is the symbolic icon normally associated with each of the animals.
