Al-Islam is a quarterly journal published in Singapore with the aim of educating Muslims in this region about Islam and Islamic teachings and fostering understanding and knowledge about Muslims from other parts of the Muslim world. This issue includes articles on the spiritual need of a patient, objective and fundamentals of the Shari'ah, heroic deeds of Muslim women in Mecca and Madinah during the early Islamic time, text of the "Declaration of Lahore" adopted by the Second Islamic Summit Conference, the adoption of the Charter of the proposed Islamic Development Bank, and the Conference of Muslim organisations held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in April.
