Information About

This publication is the work of Major William Thorn, a British officer serving in Java. In his memoir, he chronicles events that he witnessed and partook in his capacity as Deputy Quarter-Master-General to the forces serving in Java. He recounts the British campaign against the Dutch and how the British eventually conquered Batavia.
