Souvenir brochure to commemorate the official opening of the Ulu Pandan refuse incineration plant

This souvenir brochure published in conjunction with the opening of Ulu Pandan refuse incineration plant by the Minister for the Environment, Lim Kim San on 30th July 1979. The reason for building the new plant is to meet the increase in refuse output generated by an increase in population and affluence. It describes the features of the incineration plant, its processes and functions. The plant costs approximately S$94 million. Of this US$25 million is financed by a World Bank loan.
