This is a map of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere (大東亞共榮圏)", published as a supplement to the 15th year anniversary issue of the magazine Ie no Hikari. The main map shows the various main transportation routes in the region (of land, air and sea) as well the boundaries of each nation. A shaded area shows the region that was being occupied then, while the flags of the French, British and Dutch are marked on the territories which were still their colonies. The natural resources such as cotton, iron ore, gold, sugar cane and various animals etc available in region are also clearly marked out in either characters (kanji) or drawings. There are also 5 insets which showcases, the possible routes of attack on Tokyo by the enemy, a comparison of the land masses and populations of the various countries in the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, the number of Japanese moving in between the different areas and the price/amount of Japanese exports across the regions.
