Majalah Penjara is a magazine published by the Singapore Prisons Service (also known as the Prisons Department, and later the Singapore Prison Service), for all members of the Service. It features articles and reflections on prison administration and related topics such as the role of the Service in the rehabilitation of inmates and maintenance of law and order. It also reports company events and news, and updates on staff. The first issue was published on 1st July 1958. This is the 1st August 1959 issue of Majalah Penjara. It features brief profiles of Matron Mary Liang and Assistant Matron Ng Kim Neo, as well as articles on the control of prisoners, and the Colonial Prisons Medal award ceremony.
