Information About

This catalogue was published in conjunction with the exhibition of Hu Yongkai's paintings in Singapore. His paintings were inspired by his recent visit to Bali. Reconstructing scenes from Balinese villages with his favourite juxtaposition of figure and architecture, Hu Yongkai's new paintings reflect the artist's deep admiration of the local culture, and exude a spiritual resonance that travels between the palaces of imperial China (Hu's favourite subject) and the paradise island of Bali.
