Information About

This study aims to re-examine the traditional building forms and procedures of the Malay house system, which has evolved, with Malay culture, over many centuries. The system incorporates the beliefs of the Malays and responds to their way of life. It uses the resources abundant on the peninsula. The study was undertaken in the hope that an increased knowledge of traditional building forms and procedures would allow for some aspects of these to be incorporated into the design of a new form of housing for the Malay peninsula.
