In 1950 a book was published containing a brief history of the Singapore Swimming Club covering the period 1894 to 1950. This is a revised and updated edition by J.A. Gagan covering the period 1894 to 1968. It provides a history of the club from its small beginnings in 1894, when it occupied a rented attap-roofed bungalow, its development and progress in facilities provided. The book also pays tribute to the breadth of vision which successive committees in past years have brought to bear on the club's affairs without which the club as it is today could not have come into being. It is illustrated with many photographs of the club and its activities.
