This is a critical study of Thai politics. While a general historical perspective is provided, the emphasis throughout the study is on the modern period of constitutional monarchy. Instead of providing a complete chronological description of Thai politics, the five authors have deliberately highlighted certain political institutions, issues, and problems which they consider crucial to the country's political evolution.
