The main purpose of this booklet is to present the National Museum's archaelogical collection without attempting to cover all the aspects of such a wide subject as the prehistory and protohistory of South East Asia. Instead, a general survey of the subject will be provided to offer background information to help the reader understand the Museum's archaeological collection. Many scholarly publications are available for the interested reader. A selected bibliography is presented as an appendix to this booklet to facilitate further reading.
