This is a pawnbroker agreement signed between Zeimu-ka Tyo, on behalf of the mayor of Syonan (Singapore), and Lam Joo Ann on 10th November, 19th year of Syowa (more commonly spelled as Showa; Gregorian year is 1944). The contract stipulated that under this agreement, Lam is authorised to run a pawnbroking business for the 20th year of Syowa (1945), and is required to pay $450 to Suitoh-ka Tyo every month, among other conditions.
