This book is an introduction to Syria and its people, their lifestyle, language and social customs. The first known alphabet was discovered in Ugarit on the north Syrian coast. There are about 200 historical and archeological sites and most likely others that have yet to be discovered. Islam influences virtually every aspect of life.
