The secluded boudoir : & other Yuan dynasty comedies / retold by Liu Yunbo

Information About

This is the second volume in Liu Yunbo's collection of Tales from Ten Chinese Classical Comedies. Adapted from Chinese classical dramas written by well-known dramatists of the Yuan period, these abridged stories enable English readers to delve into the rich realm of the Chinese from the past. Based on the famous Chinese classical story, "The Water Margin", Li Kui Offering an Abject Apology is about the upright, coarse and rash heroic character, Li Kui. In A Miser, through divine intervention, destitute Jia Ren becomes a wealthy man overnight. The Secluded Boudoir tells how, through a twist of fate, Jiang Shilong and Wan Ruilan are brought together, but then callously separated by her father.
