This volume contains the proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Hadron Spectroscopy, at the University of Manchester from July 10th to14th 1995. The conference was based firmly on the experimental programmes in hadron spectroscopy, with key theoretical summaries in the plenary sessions. A large fraction of the meeting was given over to heavy quark physics. There was also a very successful session on future facilities for hadron spectroscopy. The search for glueballs and hybrid mesons emerged as the principle theme of the conference. Studies of gluon-rich processes have revealed states difficult to accomodate in the conventional quark-antiquark meson classification. Also the calculations of different lattice QCD groups are now beginning to give consistent results which can be correlated with observation. Progress is such that the question of whether glueballs and hybrids have been found may well be seen from a future perspective to have been answered in the affirmative at this conference.
