Information About

Building on the wealth of scholarship contained in a leading textbook on the English law of contract, this book sets out an holistic account of the contract law of Singapore and Malaysia. It achieves this aim by integrating the voluminous local case law as well as statutory provisions into the text of this well-established work. Notwithstanding the legacy of English law, particular attention is paid to both actual as well as possible local points of departure. The editor has ventured, wherever relevant, his own views on specific problematic areas (in particular, those pertaining to the provisions of the Malaysian Contracts Act, either in the form of actual interpretive difficulties and/or attendant linkages (or departures from) the common law). He has also set out and explained his own views on certain specific areas of the English law of contract.
