The proceedings focussed on the developments in the field of Fullerene research. Interest in the variety of intercalation compounds continues, but the range of phenomena observable in for example A1C60 and TDAE complexes is sufficient to merit independent consideration of these species. The proceedings also contains subsections dedicated to other intercalated compounds as well as nanotubes and nanoparticles, reflecting the continued interested in these materials. As was the case last year the volume is introduced by a description of the origins and essence of fullerene research, illustrating the diversity and interdisciplinarity of the field, and is summarised by an assessment of the applications potential of the materials.
