This report is based on the findings of a survey conducted with the fishing communities in Siglap. The aim of the survey was to find out the socio-economic activities of the fishermen, and how land reclamation has affected them. Besides providing the historical context and the ethnic composition of the fishing villages in the Siglap area, the report also focuses on the fishing practices and the socio-economic status of the fishermen, and how future construction developments are likely to affect them.
