I remembered growing up in the 70's was a challenge. My mother is a stay-at-home mum and my dad is the sole bread winner for a family of 8. Life was hard, actually much harder compared to today's context. Singapore has progressed so tremendously and I hope my children will learn to appreciate everything they received from us. The next phase of Singapore's growth will depend on them. I hope they will appreciate, build on the present and learn from the past. Be resilient and loyal to Singapore, our home! (Memory collected at the Jurong Regional Library during "The Singapore Story: My Heart, My Hope, My Home" campaign from 6 Sep to 31 Dec 2012)
