Getting to Bukit Panjang town from Chestnut estate

Recollection
P. Jeya Putra - Transcript of 8 May 2018 interview by Chan Kim Yin Everything in our backyard was forest reserve and a Chinese kampong. People went to Bukit Panjang either via the main road or through Chestnut Avenue where there was a footpath (Lorong Kong Kuan) that led to Bukit Panjang. Bukit Panjang comprised old shophouses with an Indian mill, Chinese “churcha”, provision stores, etc. Very little of it is left. On the left side of Upper Bukit Timah road beyond the Indian temple and the (Princes) landscape place around the junction of Bukit Timah and Woodlands road was a big police station. Post office was further in at Teck Whye.
