Singapore Teachers Union often met here in the 70s

Recollection
My dad (Teo Puay Teck) was a very active union leader for the Singapore Teachers Union. He would frequently drive all the day to Teachers estate at Thomson to attend meetings; and, he would occasionally also have all his buddies at 4 Chestnut Close for meetings as well. At one point someone at the union noticed my father was very active and asked if he considered joining the PAP. He declined and said he was not interested in politics. He just wanted to help others. Note: Transcript of interview with Joyce Teo (resident of #4 Chestnut Close from 1960s to present) on 5 May 2019, recorded by Chan Kim Yin.
