Back in the 1970's, my father was still an active young boy. He used to play a variety of games such as marbles (as shown in picture 1), kuti-kuti and fighting spiders. My father had a bunch of good friends and they will always meet up after school to play such games. My father would always look forward towards the end of the year as they will have a kite flying competition, during the months of November and December, when the wind were exceptionally strong then.
Apart from those games that he played with his friends, my father would also go fishing on his own as it was his hobby that he still loves up till this very day. In picture 2, it shows that my father had caught an eel. He would normally barbecue the marine animals that he had caught. He would season the fishes that he caught with sambal chili and warm them in a banana leave before barbecuing the fishes. He prefers to season the eels with garlic and onions instead of sambal chili. He also said that puts in a lot of effort when seasoning the seafood in hope to make the fresh seafood taste as nice as possible. that was also when he also picked up the skill in cooking and that inspired him to become a chef, working in a posh Chinese restaurant as an admirable chef today.
