Dear Sir/ Mdm,
The attached Picture was taken around 1974. My dad, Me and my Younger sister at Anderson Bridge. My Memories are around 1974 to 1978 with some confirmation from my mom, she still remembers.
We remember the Old 金華 Theatre, the Old Market and Several places roamed by trishaw ride at 20 cents per trip anywhere in the China Town
We are living in a Pre war Building on the 2nd floor and it's second building adjacent to Telecom next to International Plaza on Choon Guan Street. The pre-war houses opposite where my friends live can walk through upper floors horizontally inside.
There were at least 7 families and lots of Single Man sleeping at the corridor on Canvas Bed packed in a 4 storey Pre-war houses. The Women who came to collect our rent is quite unfriendly like (包租婆) in old hong kong Movies. According from my dad, most of them are (二奶) been ignored by their husband. All of us have to queer for toilet early in the morning.
I always see old Cinema screen painter at back alley behind our house and they always use brushes to paint large Canvas Banner ready for new movie release.
Old man opening their Sundry shop with vertical planks laying with numbering from left to right as their main security gates.
The workers where fabricating Boxes and Paper bags in the early 70's before the existence of plastic bags at Wallich Street.
The First KFC near the Mawell / Peah Seah junction.
I hope I can meet my Childhood friends again during the above period:
