This is a picture of a Pallanguzhi. This was a commonly played game in the 1960's in Singapore. At that time when my parents were kids aged around 7 to 8, they used to play this game with their parents using tamarind seeds or any type of seeds they find in large amounts. Only 2 people can play this game in each round. Since only two players are able to play, There will be bonding between each other while playing because they will talk about their family life and laugh in happiness which can't be expressed in words. Nowadays teenagers and kids like me do not have much communication with their parents and they spend most of their time in the computer thinking that computer is their world. Moreover, through this Pallanguzhi, I learnt my basic mathematics counting, subtraction, division and multiplication. This memory had made an impact on me as at that period of time, I did not really know how to use a computer, hence i used to play this when I was around 4 years old. I also like playing Pallanguzhi as during the game, when i am stuck in between of two choices, my mother act as if she did a wrong move and give up for me and when i win the game, the smile in my mother's face is so sweet that it is not explainable :D...I did not realize that when i was young, but now i do... ;)
