Working in Community Chest

Recollection
She came to me, held my hands and whispered softly into my ears, “so pretty!” as we stood at the back of house, waiting for her turn to present a bouquet of flowers to Mrs Tony Tan. Her little gesture touched my heart. I first saw her in 2009 when we were preparing for TrueHearts Show. She couldn’t walk independently, unable to focus or follow simple instructions. This awesome lady now is able to maintain eye contact, sit still, walk, run, and attend to task. She is Aaliyah. Aaliyah is born with Apert Syndrome and has made tremendous improvement since attending the early intervention programme. I think we are doing a wonderful job in garnering donations to help people like Aaliyah and brought smiles to many. It has been an enriching and fulfilling journey serving the needy in the community alongside all of my ComChest colleagues. One of my greatest blessings here is the friendships I have forged, and the encouragement & love I received. Although I’ve moved to a new unit, I’ve confidence that ComChest will do well and exceed this year’s target to help more people in need. Huat ah!
