Joo Chiat Place

Recollection
I used to stay at Joo Chiat Place. It was a quiet street, but there was a Wayang Stage opposite my house. It was permanent and belong to the temple. During festival, there were Teochew, Hokkien and Cantoness shows. There were also hawker selling food during the festivals and the streets would be very busy. I used to live on the 3rd floor and would bring the bucket down to get food from the street hawkers. Now, the stage was torn down and taken over by housing.
