In the first picture, the is a television placed in a cabinet. This is very common in the 70s. TCS, commonly known as Mediacorp, did not exist yet. There is a SBC Singapore broadcast channel. Back then, there were no 24 hour programme. Shows usually started in the late evening and ended at 12 midnight during weekdays.
In the second picture, my mother grew up in a kampong at Jalan Kathi, commonly known as Bedok Kampong. Life was simple back then. Children played catching spiders and shooting using stem from papaya trees. In the background, is my grandmother's house. There we no washing machine back then. Laundry were hand washed. Then, the laundry would be lined on a tightrope to be dried under the hot merciless sun.
In the third picture, there was a picture of an event in school. My mother attended Bedok Primary School. There was only 1 4-storey main building used as classrooms. There was also a canteen cum school hall. The school was just a walking distance from my mothers house. Pupils assembled and had recess at the same place. There were no air conditioned room, computers or other electronics. A plate of rice back then only costs 20 cents. The school currently has closed down.
In the fourth picture, there is a picture of a beach. It is currently near Bedok Army Camp. It used to be the sea. Soon, the land was reclaimed. The beach was just a walking distance from my mother's house. Back then, my grandfather would fish in his 'sampan'. He was a fisherman. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of him.
