Arivu Chudar was a weekly publication that began in 1973, with S S Muhaiyiddin as the editor. Launched on 22 February 1973 from 10 Dunlop Street, and published every Thursday, the magazine was printed by Star Press and priced at 25 cents. It comprised eight pages featuring editorials, news, poetry, essays, Q&A, and more. The magazine covered a diverse range of topics, including educational articles on heart disease and the challenges facing the US dollar. Arivu Chudar featured both original works and translated articles.

In the editorial titled ‘Support Arivu Chudar,’ an appeal was made to the Tamil community, emphasising that the magazine required their full support to sustain its existence and operate at its maximum potential. Despite such appeals, the magazine eventually ceased publication. The date and reasons for Arivu Chudar’s closure remain unknown.
