Manokaran movie magazine was launched in 1955 as a monthly with L T Ramani as its editor and S V Shanmugam as assistant editor.
In addition to film reviews, the magazine included news clippings and a section where the editor addressed readers' questions, mostly related to movies. It also featured essays and short stories on literature and writers from Malaya, offering non-cinematic content. Occasional articles covered topics such as music and travel.
Published from the Manokaran Office at 116 Serangoon Road, the magazine was priced at 40 cents. The exact year and reasons for Manokaran's discontinuation remain unknown.
