There are two papers presented here. The first paper is a dissertation by John Leyden, a Scottish linguist and poet. It surveys 14 different languages and literatures of the Indo-Chinese nations situated between India and China. The languages are Malàyu, Jáwa, Búgís, Bima, Batta, Gàla (or Tăgàla), Rukhéng, Bárma, Môn, T'hay, Khôhmén, Lâw, Anám and Palí. The second paper discusses the various ancient English silver coins issued during the reigns of William I, William II, Henry I, Stephen and Eustatius, Henry II, Richard I, John, Henry III, Edward I, Edward II, Edward III, Richard II, Henry IV, Henry V, Henry VI, Edward IV, Richard III, Henry VII and Henry VIII.
