Fantastic Beasts and the Forbidden Forest:
Impressions of Nature in Harry Potter
Step into the magic and mystery behind the weird and wonderful flora and fauna in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series with literary wizard Ow Yeong Wai Kit. Join him as he traces the roots of these creatures and plants back to literary works of classical, medieval and Renaissance mythology.
Ow Yeong Wai Kit has been a Potter enthusiast for over 20 years. His writings have been featured in The Straits Times, TODAY, QLRS, and the Daily Prophet. He is involved in Poetry Festival Singapore, and is also the co-editor of From Walden to Woodlands: An Anthology of Nature Poems. Wai Kit holds an MA from University College London, where he was awarded the John Oliver Hobbes Memorial Scholarship in Modern English. He currently assumes the cover of a Muggle teacher at a local school, where he teaches Defence Against the Dark Arts (disguised as English).
