The Citizen Archivist Project (CAP) is a crowdsourcing partnership between the National Archives of Singapore (NAS) and members of the public. NAS has many historical records that would need description to be put on our online catalogue – Archives Online (https://www.nas.gov.sg/archivesonline/). The CAP calls for everybody’s help to make these records more accessible and searchable for the public.
Get involved by:
- Transcribe documents
- Describe photographs
- Transcribe audio
- Transcribe and translate records labels
- Transliterate newspapers
- Upload a sound clip to SoundScapeSG
- Translate dialect records
Commitment from you:
The CAP is a digital and ongoing volunteerism programme that you can make your contributions anytime and anywhere via the CAP portal. There is no fixed timing or minimum number of hours to commit to.
