The session will examine the series State of Motion through the double vision of immersion and disruption in the vertiginous experience of its participants. As we negotiate with the varying degrees of immersion desired by the cinematic environments of the screen, the virtual realities of the tour, and the involution of film and site projected by the artists, we begin to ask what emerges from these strange loops of immersion, or are we simply caught in yet another loop – as another ensemble of actors performing on the same set behind the screen?

Speakers: SHAWN CHUA
